The law requires every society to keep a register of its members. Your name, date of birth, gender and address go in it.

Your photograph goes on the card. The card carries a code so anyone can confirm the card is genuine — that check shows only your photo, name, number, category, status and expiry. It never shows your phone, address or email.

The identity document you upload is seen only by administrators when your application is reviewed. It is never shown on the website and is erased three years after the application is decided.

The bye-laws let you name someone as your nominee. We record who you name and how they are related to you.

If you are taken ill or injured at one of our events, we would call this person. Your blood group, if you give it, would be passed to whoever is treating you. Leave this blank if you would rather not.

We take photographs at events and put some of them on our website. If you appear in one and would rather not, tell us and we will take it down.

We cannot register you as a member without this — it is what the law requires us to keep, or what your card and receipts are made from.
